If I Delete TikTok, Will I Lose My Drafts?
Short answer: Yes. Deleting (uninstalling) the TikTok app permanently erases your drafts, because drafts are stored on your phone — not on TikTok's servers. But logging out, switching accounts, and deactivating your account are all safe for drafts.

Every Action, Side by Side
| Action | Drafts Safe? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Uninstall / delete the app | NO | Drafts are erased permanently |
| Offload app (iPhone) | USUALLY | Data is kept in theory, but back up first |
| Log out | YES | Drafts untouched |
| Switch accounts | YES | Each account sees only its own drafts |
| Deactivate / delete account | YES | Drafts stay until you uninstall the app |
Why Deleting the App Erases Drafts
TikTok drafts are saved in the app's local storage — a private folder on your phone that belongs to the app. They are never uploaded to TikTok's servers and never synced to your account. That's why they don't appear when you log in on a new phone, and why they vanish the moment the app is removed.
When you delete an app, iOS and Android wipe its entire local storage — drafts included. There is no recovery option.
If I Offload TikTok on iPhone, Will I Lose My Drafts?
Usually no. iPhone's "Offload App" feature (Settings → General → iPhone Storage → TikTok → Offload App) removes the app itself but keeps its documents and data. When you reinstall, your drafts should reappear.
One caveat: some users have reported drafts going missing after offloading and reinstalling. Since there's no guaranteed behavior, treat offloading the same as uninstalling for anything you can't afford to lose — save it first.

Will Logging Out or Switching Accounts Delete My Drafts?
Neither one touches your drafts. Logging out only ends your session — the app's local storage stays intact, and your drafts will be waiting when you log back in.
Switching between accounts is also safe, with one thing to know: drafts are tied to the account that created them on that device. When you switch to account B, you'll only see account B's drafts — account A's drafts are still there, just hidden until you switch back.
How to Delete TikTok Without Losing Your Drafts
- 1. Save each draft to your camera roll — open the draft, proceed to the post screen, and tap "Save to device" before anything else.
- 2. Back up your posted videos too — if you're deleting TikTok entirely, use VideoDownloaderAI to download your own published videos in HD without watermark.
- 3. Then delete the app or account — in any order, safely.
Only download videos you own or have permission to use.
